A joint research study of nearly 90,000 properties in the Denver, Colorado metro area was aimed at putting a price on curb appeal. Researchers from the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Alabama took to their computers and Google Street View to review properties, and the ones around them along with recent sales data.
Findings show that curb appeal does matter with homes displaying a nice exterior and maintained property fetching an average of 7% more money than an unkempt property. Variables in the study show that in a more saturated housing market that average can go up to as much as 14% more.
